It Has Begun

RuthAnn and I pointed our BMWs west on July 30th and 2000 miles later arrived in Richmond, British Columbia, on August 5th. This was the beginning of a motorcycle journey that has been two years in the planning. After passing through the Twin Cities we abandoned the interstate road system and made our way through western Minnesota, the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, and Washington to Canada on secondary roads. Along the way we celebrated our 46th wedding anniversary, stopped in Great Falls to see Piano Pat and the mermaids at the Sip and Dip Lounge, visited motorcycle buddy Dan Saari in Montana, and muddied the bikes with Montana mud before arriving at Pacific Motosports in Richmond. Click on "Steve's SPOT" in the upper righthand corner of the blog to see our route from De Pere to Vancouver (the green dots indicate an overnight stop).
Pacific serviced the bikes, mounted new tires, and corrected a fuel pressure sensor problem on my bike that threatened our forward progress. They then proceeded to tie down and shrink wrap the bikes for shipment to Korea next week.
