Berlin to Handewitt

8 OCT - Enjoyed a true 'European Breakfast at the Hotel Benn in Spandau, then hit the road north at 08:30.

Rain was predicted and it rained durring the night but just overcast sky for our departure. It cleared as we rode north and against the forecast turned out to be a fine day, with a high of 61 degrees.

Had a great lunch at Rasthaus Schckendorf. I of course had the spaghetti bolognese and Sara tried the Curryworst. Loved it.

Maybe I've been on the road to long because after a day of riding through German countryside that could be Iowa I didn't take any photos.

I do have to admit that the German Autobahns are great fun. I just set the cruise at 75mph and enjoy the ride. Folks in their Mercedes-Benz and Audis come by so fast that I can only guess their speed must be around 130mph.

Went shopping for fruit, for guess who, and got a kick out of the size of the beer cans. And its not 3.2 like in Minnesota. We're just south if the Denmark border. The Costco type store we shopped at was over run with Danes stocking up with beer. Asked the clerk about it and she said they come to Germany to shop because things are so expensive in Denmark.

As the Sun set the rain started. Happy to be in for the night.
