Vilnius to Warsaw

1OCT - October and in just under six weeks I'll be home in Reno. Sara will beat me because she'll fly home from Columbus, Ohio where we'll visit Susan Olson, a grade school friend of Sara's. (We'll be riding down from Toronto to Ostrander, OH.)

We left at 09:15 blue sky and 45  degrees. Crossing southern Lithuania and into Poland we could easily be in Southeastern Minnesota or Wisconsin. Trying to avoid Belarus, because we didn't want to deal with visas, our 272 mile day turned into a 319 mile day as we toured the Poland country side.

Arrived at the Aparthotel Stalowa52 at 17:00. The secure parking for the bikes was the restaurant's patio. To get the bikes from the street to the patio we had to ride through the restaurant. (Shades of Mexico and Central Ametica.) The manager asked us to do this before 18:30 - dinner hour starts at 20:00 in this part of the world. With the hotel breakfast running from 07:00/10:30 I'm not sure how we'll get the bike out tomorrow for a 09:30 departure.
