Kemerovo to Novosibrisk

10SEP - We departed this morning at 09:00 and rode through heavy traffic until we got out of town. A lot more truck traffic as we continue West.

Speaking of trucks, 'size' does rule the road here. If a truck needs to miss a pothole they will take a lane. So, it's critical to look ahead and anticipate what might happen next and plan accordingly.

Drivers here are aggressive so if you need a lane you have to 'take it'. If you're passing a long string of trucks and need to get in they will let you in, or both sides pull to their right and you ride up the middle. A two lane highway becomes a three lane highway. There is no horn honking. Actually it's much like driving in Mexico and South America. I call it 'Going native'.

We're taking a rest day here, in the third largest city in Russia, because when we leave here it'll be a long day reaching our next hotel. After that there will be more and more cities as we near Moscow and of course more and more tracfic.
